Wed, 6 June 2007 This week we spend 'one episode with 'the King'... ZING! NO, we review the 2006 film adaptation of the biblical story of Esther, 'One Night with the King'. Based on the fictional Tommy Tenney/Mark Olsen novel 'Hadassah', this film follows a young Jewish woman as she first competes for the Queen's throne, then goes to bat for her people after a genocide decree is placed on their heads. Tiffany DuPont, Luke Goss, James Callis, 'Zeus' Tiny Lister, John Rhys-Davies and John Noble star... with TINY CAMEOS from Peter O'Toole and Omar Sherif (although the promotional materials will tell you otherwise). Described as "pornography for Christian women", so take that as you will...Intro: 'One Night in Bangkok' by Murray Head Outro: 'Der Kommissar' by After the Fire You can find full versions of the intro and outro music on our LiveJournal. Also, we now have an official domain! SuperCandid.net, and our own email addresses: Jon@supercandid.net Don@supercandid.net This show went up a little early... because it could, and Jon is in Europe still, so the next show might be a bit late anyway. Show Notes: I'm going to start adding an addendum to our show, as we always get some fact wrong, and I'm a stickler for truth! - 'Hadassah' was co-authored by Mark Olsen and Tommy Tenney. Tenney wanted to write a fictional novel, but had never written fiction, so Mark Olsen helped out. Thanks! - Don Comments[0] |
